FIRST CORINTHIANS

First Corinthians – Seeing All Of Life Through The Gospel – First Corinthians is the New Testament letter for our times. It was written to a church in a city that entertained many religious ideas but more pervasive were the Greek ideals of individualism, personal freedom, and the distrust of authority. Pluralism was the cultural climate of the society and it was reflected in many ways in the life of this congregation. The apostle Paul believed the Gospel of Jesus is the lens through which we are to see all of life. If we hope to reach our full potential as Christians and as a church, we must work to bring the Gospel to bear on all the issues of contemporary life.
