Let’s Kick Off a New Season!

We are excited to announce Fall Kickoff 2024 here at Browncroft.  This coming Sunday, September 15, we will be kicking off a new season of growth, connection, and community with our church family. Join us for our regular 9:00 and 10:30 services– with a brisk fall-spiced twist or two.

Beyond the fun, games, coffee, cider, and donuts…

Here are some things to look forward to:

New Sermon Series: Citizens of Heaven: The Politics of Hope & Humility

Last week Pastor Rob introduced a new eight-week sermon series where we will learn from the example of Jesus how to act as “citizens of heaven”, not just in the future, but in the now.  As a companion to these sermons, we will be releasing special extended discussions with experts in the community. These discussions have led off this week with Pastor Rob and Pastor John Iamaio speaking with author and professor Richard Middleton.  You can catch that on our Browncroft YouTube channel, here.

Additionally, our pastoral and creative staff have put together a prayer guide to use in personal, group, and corporate prayer settings this season.  This, and future prayer guides, can be found and printed from our Connect page.

Discipleship

Here are some ways we are seeking to deepen our understanding of God’s Word, as well as our love for each other, this fall:

  • Regular small groups will be restarting
  • Regular rhythms of Midlife Discipleship, Senior Connections, The Pause, and The Gathering are resuming
  • We will be celebrating ten individuals being baptized this Sunday!
  • A new cohort of Rooted (with approximately 96 participants!) will be beginning this Sunday
  • We will be hosting a church-wide Prayer Night, including worship and communion, on September 22
  • Browncroft Women are invited to Girls Night Out: Charcuterie & Hospitality on September 27
  • Browncroft Men are invited to the Men’s Bonfire on October 11
  • Browncroft Young Adults is hosting “The Anxiety Era” on October 4, a panel discussion featuring local mental health experts who will cover some of the biggest issues facing Christianity and culture today

All this and more can be found on browncroft.org/events. This page is updated regularly to keep you informed about exciting events coming up at the church!

Outreach

We are called to love and serve our neighbors near and far.  Browncroft is reaching out to the community in new and big ways this fall:

  • We are running a cohort of Alpha this season, beginning on September 23. You can find out more and celebrate this initiative at Taste of Alpha, an open event at Knucklehead Craft Brewing in Webster this coming Monday, September 16, starting at 6pm.
  • Pray Give Go will meet again, holding an informational meeting on upcoming short-term global mission trips on September 22
  • We will have our Send Me Conference 2024: The Beauty of Healthy Missions this November, featuring The Gospel Coalition’s Matt Carter, and the 25th anniversary of Browncroft’s Wolof Partnership in Senegal.  Stay tuned for more information regarding this conference.

Family Ministry

We are proud to be a church who helps to grow the next generation while being grown in turn by the faith of our kids and students. This fall we will see:

Get Involved

As we launch into this new program year, we invite you to get involved!  Serve opportunities abound, from serving on Sundays to participating in outreach initiatives. We invite you to participate in the work God is doing to make a difference in our community and our world. Join a team, lead a group, get trained in the café, or start by simply inviting a friend to church or sharing our Sunday livestream– there are countless ways to get involved!

***

All of these opportunities and more (like a Tenth Avenue North Concert on October 6, and our Annual Celebration on October 8) can be found on the Fall at Browncroft cards available around the café this Sunday.  Take one home for the fridge!

Let’s kick off this fall together.  See you then!
