This Sunday we are concluding our “Serve Like Jesus” series. We’ve had the opportunity to reflect on various ways that God calls us to help others — the example of Jesus washing feet, being attentive to ways we can care for neighbors, supporting others financially, and more. So what’s next?
As I think about that question, I think about a promise Jesus shared with His followers: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.” (Luke 6:38) Serving is not for selfish gain, but it brings us closer to our Lord and to others — and it leads to an overflow of heavenly blessings in our lives.
I want that. I bet you do, too. But finding ways to serve can sometimes feel challenging — at least for some of us. At Browncroft one of the spiritual habits we pursue is “know and use your gifts,” so we want to help you in your journey of exploring serving.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.
Luke 6:38
This coming Sunday (July 30) we’ll have a chance to do just that through our “Serve Like Jesus Fair.” After both services you will have the opportunity learn more about ministries within Browncroft and with some of our ministry partners. There will be tables in our lobby hosted by representatives who can share with you more about their ministry area, and ways you can get involved.
And, by the way, if you are already serving in the community, we’d love to know that, too! We want to be able to pray for and come alongside you in your ministry. Please click here to let us know.
Whether you are new to Browncroft or you have been here for a while, I encourage you to check out ways you can get connected by serving. Please stop by one of the tables next Sunday or click the button below. My prayer is that we can serve and grow together!
