For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)

I found a church missionary directory from the 1970’s last summer and inside were many people that are still on the field today. A number were holding babies in their photos, and now — decades later with adult children — they are still faithfully serving and advancing the Kingdom of God. I am not sure if any of those individuals knew they would still be on the field 40+ years later, but God knew when they said, “Yes.”

We just have to say, “Yes.”

We were specifically created to do good works, and there is comfort knowing God has already planned what we are going to get involved in. We just have to say, “Yes.”

Let’s take a moment to pray for the following areas:

  • Praise God for the decades of service from our missionary partners. Pray for our newer partners as they learn and see God at work in their ministries.
  • Praise God for all the organizations caring for our neighbors here in Rochester. Pray for encouragement, engagement, and financial blessing.
  • Pray that we will say “yes” to God’s leading and call as we see needs around us.
  • Pray for serving opportunities to use our skills and talents to grow and share our faith.

God, thank You for all that You are doing and have done through the missionaries and congregation at Browncroft. Let us be people that are always looking to care for others in the name of Jesus.

Join Us for “The Anxiety Era: A Conversation on Mental Health and the Church”

I’ve seen firsthand how mental health challenges, particularly anxiety and depression, affect young people today. I’ve also seen firsthand how the reactions of the Church, both negative and positive, can drastically impact the outcome of a young person’s mental health journey. That’s why I would love for you to join us on Friday, October 4th, for "The Anxiety Era: A Conversation on Mental Health and the Church."
